In my photography, I am particularly fascinated by the subtle interplay between humans and their surroundings. The landscapes I capture tell stories of centuries of mutual influence. Molded equally by the forces of nature and human influence, these stories are often hidden and only revealed upon closer inspection. One example of this is the English landscape garden, which creates a harmonious balance where nature and human design both have room to unfold. With an impressionistic perspective that excludes distracting details and focuses on essential forms, colors, and lines, the essence of cultural landscape design is revealed.
